The Leca Project has devised LecaSOFI skill sets, a matrix of core curriculum learning resources which enable teachers to structure individual and collaborative study programmes in response to each child’s abilities and skills. At all times, and in all modes, they form the focal point for teaching and learning interventions within Lecaspace.
These learning resources provide the focal point for structured teaching and learning interventions within Lecaspace. They may be used during augmented and alternative communication, and student appraisal.
The SOFI acronym is taken from four play states (of many) within early childhood development; Sensorymotor, Organisational, Functional and Imaginative or pretend play. Each has its own colour for identification and referencing.
